In detail, you can stake diamond to a world chunk. It is a 16*16 chunk from the world bottom to the highest sky. After the stake, you can claim the land as your own. After that, anyone else won't mine or build inside that chunk. He/she will be noticed that land is owned by your address.

The only way someone else can reclaim the land is by staking more diamond to the same land than yours.
